She holds a Master's in Advanced Theatre Practice from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London. She is also a graduate in Communication and Design, specializing in design, photography, and film.Aruna is interested in engaging with audiences in unique ways and creating multi-sensorial performance experiences and learning interventions. Her performance Coloured and Choosing, looks at how gender plays out in an individual’s life, asking the audience to reflect upon various gender based roles and norms that we are part of.
At Interweave, Aruna brings together various inter-disciplinary mediums (Art, theatre, storytelling, Games and technology) to create learning engagements that enable participants to go have dialogues around various diversity and inclusion themes. She has worked with multiple brands like Microsoft, SAP, Myntra, RBS, Coca-Cola, Aditya Birla, Tata Realty, Ashok Leyland, CGI and NHRD where various innovative art based approaches have been used to enable Inclusion conversations around gender, unconscious bias and generational diversity.
Aruna has worked with brands Daimler and Ashok Leyland for 6 years in Marketing, leading the brand development of a new brand of truck in the Indian Market, BharatBenz. Her work focused on design thinking, communication delivery and audience experience management.
She has worked in theatre and performance for the last 20 years. Her work has been part of festivals in India, Singapore and London. Aruna is an ATSA (Arts Think South Asia) fellow, focusing on contemporary arts management practices. She is the Artistic Director of Visual Respiration.
