Design Impact Movement
Design solutions for disability arising from falls in the elderly

Approximately 30% of people aged 65 and above fall every year and suffer traumatic injuries, immobilization, and loss of independence. Hip fracture is the most probable injury after these falls, leading to reduced mobility and function. Falls are also one of the leading causes of death in elderly persons. Can you provide innovative solutions to prevent life-threatening injuries and help realize the vision of WHO’s Active Ageing Model?

How Might We design solutions that reduce preventable injuries (falls) amongst the geriatric population?
